What is the Phenomenal Aire warranty?
The standard warranty is one year from the date of purchase. The warranty, however, can be extended to three years if the installation is registered here. If multiple units were installed at the site, you can register once. There’s no need to individually register each unit.
What maintenance does Phenomenal Aire require?
Phenomenal Aire has no scheduled maintenance requirements. Periodic cleaning is all that’s recommended.
Does Phenomenal Aire require replacement parts?
No. There are no moving parts and nothing to replace on any of our Phenomenal Aire units.
How do I know Phenomenal Aire is working?
Check for the green LED light. If it’s on, your unit is getting power. Some of our commercial products interface with building management systems or building automation systems for even greater visibility into the status of your installations.
To confirm your ion production, you can use an air ion sensor.
What’s the expected life-span of a Phenomenal Aire unit?
A Phenomenal Aire unit should last eight to ten years, or about the life of the HVAC system.
Does Phenomenal Aire produce any harmful by-products?
No. Our ionization process produces no harmful or dangerous by-products, such as ozone or reactive oxygen species (ROSs). Our products produce an almost indetectable amount of ozone. In our UL-867 testing, we averaged only about 4 parts per billion of ozone.
Can I install Phenomenal Aire in my large commercial space?
Yes. Our Series C 6.0 is rated for HVAC systems up to 6,000 CFM, and our Series C 10.0 is rated for 10,000 CFM. There are also units intended for ductless split systems with cooling coils up to 48 inches wide.
Can Phenomenal Aire help with air pollutants commonly associated with allergies?
Yes. The ions produced by the device cause like particles (dander, pollen, dust) to stick to one another, making them larger and easier to catch in your existing HVAC filter.
Can I use Phenomenal Aire with radiant heating?
No. In order to deliver the ions into the occupied space, you need an HVAC system that produces an airstream.
Can Phenomenal Aire be used in ductless split systems or standalone AC units?
Yes. Our Series D products are designed for these kinds of HVAC systems. See our “Commercial Products” page for more specific information.
How does Phenomenal Aire work?
Phenomenal Aire produces ions to clean indoor air. The ions are generated by Needlepoint Clusters and released into the HVAC airstream. As the ions come in contact with particles they become bonded together. This process is known as agglomeration. The process occurs over and over again. Particulates join together to become clusters of particulates. Each time a particulate joins a cluster, the cluster grows in size making it easier to capture and filter from the air.
